Week 11/2024 – Recall ordered for 47 cosmetics and body care products

Market withdrawal: Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk

The recalled products (perfumes, lacquers, liquid soap, deodorants, shower gels, hair creams, cleansing milk, soaps, hair gels, hair foams, hand creams, face masks, hair oils, hair dyes and facial toners) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the unborn child, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing these ingredients in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.

These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Czechia and Italy have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.

 

 

 

 

 

Market withdrawal: Cosmetic with Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate – Chemical risk

The recalled product (baby wipes) contains an excessive concentration of Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, measured at 0.51% and not indicated on the label.
Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate is a preservative that can cause severe eye irritation, skin irritation and respiratory irritation.

This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Lithuania has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
