Market Withdrawal: 98 Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk

The recalled products (15 eau de toilette, 17 perfumes, 14 shampoos, 9 hair conditioners, 8 hair foams, 6 shower gels, 4 bath foams, 4 moisturizing creams, 4 deodorants, 2 hand creams, 2 hair gels, 2 liquid soaps, 2 hair dyes, 2 soaps, 2 baby wipes, a hair cream, some make-up remover wipes, a hair mask, a hairspray and a facial toner) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing these ingredients in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.

These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Czechia and Italy have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.

Market withdrawal: 8 cosmetics with Perfluorononyl dimethicone – Environmental risk

The recalled products (3 lip pencils, 2 eyeliners, a hair serum, a hair cream and a protective hair spray), contain intentionally added Perfluorononyl dimethicone. This is a compound related to Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA). PFOAs pose a risk to human health and the environment.

These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Finland has notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.
