Weeks 24-25/2024 – Recall ordered for 28 cosmetics and body care products

Market Withdrawal: 27 Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk

The recalled products (9 perfumes, 4 eau de toilette Soap, 4 deodorants, 2 hand creams, a hair conditioner, an aftershave, a set of bath body oils, a hair foam, a set with an eau de toilette and a deodorant, a shower cream and a facial toner) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing this ingredient in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.

These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Czechia, Hungary and Italy have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.

 

 

 

 

 

Market withdrawal: Cosmetic with Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (HICC) – Chemical risk

The recalled product (skin lightening lotion) contains Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (HICC) which is banned in cosmetic products. HICC can cause allergic skin reactions.

This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Germany has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
