Weeks 28-29/2024 – Recall ordered for 76 cosmetics and body care products

Market Withdrawal: 75 Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk

The recalled products (26 perfumes, 25 eau de toilette, 7 shower gels, 5 deodorants, 3 soaps, 2 hair foams, 2 hair conditioners, a set of exfoliating creams, a set of shower gel and deodorant, a set of cosmetics and a body oil) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the unborn child, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing this ingredient in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.

These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Czechia, Hungary, Italy and Romania have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.

 

 

 

 

 

Withdrawal: Cosmetic with Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Microbiological risk

The recalled product (a hair dye) presents a microbiological risk due to its high concentration of aerobic mesophilic bacteria, with a measured value of up to 110,000 cfu/g, and yeasts and molds, with a measured value of up to 9500 cfu/g. If the product is used on injured skin, or if it comes into contact with the eyes, it can cause infections or irritation.
In addition, its import was rejected at the border.

This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Finland has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
