Market Withdrawal: 9 Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk
The recalled products (2 body creams, 2 eau de toilette, a liquid soap, a hair foam, a deodorant, an after-shave and cosmetic sets) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing this ingredient in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Czechia and Hungary have notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
Market Withdrawal: Cosmetics with allergenic fragrances – Chemical risk
The recalled product (perfume) contains allergenic fragrances including limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, citral and coumarin, which are not mentioned in the list of ingredients. These fragrances can cause allergic contact dermatitis in sensitized people.
This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Czechia has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
Market Withdrawal: Cosmetic with excessive concentration of Salicylic Acid – Chemical risk
The recalled product (facial peel) has an excessive concentration of salicylic acid, with a measured value of 27%.
Salicylic acid causes serious eye damage and can cause chemical burns when applied to the skin.
This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Spain has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
Market Withdrawal: Cosmetics with hydroquinone – Chemical risk
The recalled product (shampoo-bath gel) contains 1,4-dioxane (Dioxane). Dioxane is banned in cosmetic products. Dioxane can cause cancer, causes severe eye irritation and can cause respiratory irritation. In addition, the product contains the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial). In addition, the product contains an excessive concentration of Methylisothiazolinone (MI) with a measured value of 0.0041%. MI causes severe skin burns and eye damage and can cause an allergic skin reaction.
This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Greece has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
