Market withdrawal: Cosmetics containing Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk
The recalled products (31 eau de toilette, 23 shower gels, 19 perfumes, 16 cosmetic sets, 6 hair gels, 5 deodorants, 3 sunscreens, 2 sftershaves, 2 cleansing milks, 2 moisturizing creams, 2 shampoos, a soap, a body oil, a shampoo-bath gel, a hand cream, a bronzer, an aftersun, a facial toner and a foundation) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing this ingredient in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Hungary and Italy have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.
Market withdrawal: Cosmetics with Perfluorononyl dimethicone – Chemical risk
The recalled products (5 eye liners, 3 lip pencils and one eye pencil) contain intentionally added Perfluorononyl dimethicone. This is a compound related to perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). PFOAs pose a risk to human health and the environment.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Luxembourg has notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.
Market withdrawal: Cosmetic with trisodium nitrilotriacetate – Chemical risk
The recalled product (heat spray) contains trisodium nitrilotriacetate in its list of ingredients. This substance is harmful if swallowed and can cause severe eye irritation and cancer.
This product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Bulgaria has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
