
Week 15/2024 – Recall ordered for 5 cosmetics and body care products
Market withdrawal: Cosmetics with Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial) – Chemical risk
The recalled products (moisturizing cream and a leg spray) contain the allergen Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing these ingredients in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Lithuania and Czechia have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.
Market withdrawal: Cosmetics containing Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (Lyral) – Chemical risk
The recalled products (two perfumes and a face cream) are listed in the list of ingredients as containing Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (Lyral). This component has been banned in cosmetics and body care products since August 2021. In addition, Lyral can cause allergic skin reactions.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Lithuania has notified the withdrawal of this product from the market.
