
Week 7/2024 – The withdrawal of 3 cosmetics and body care products has been ordered
Withdrawn from the market: Cosmetics containing 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA) – Chemical risk
The recalled products (two soaps and a perfume) contain the allergen 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), which has been classified as toxic to reproduction and to the health of the fetus, and may in some cases cause skin sensitization, and all products containing these ingredients in their formulation have been withdrawn from the market.
These products do not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
Romania and Czechia have notified the withdrawal of these products from the market.
